My Journey to Reinvention
In 2014, I was offered a job teaching middle school mathematics to girls. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that there is no better feeling than unlocking the students’ potential and watching them unleash that newly found confidence. This experience taught me that the number one obstacle students face in math is not math itself, but it’s a withheld or a low level of confidence.
This was my spark. I really enjoyed testing various ideas that applied growth mindset, gaming principles, neuroscience of learning, and psychology of motivation in order to help the students struggling most elevate themselves into the higher groups of math students.
I realized that I wanted to help people grow in their skills, abilities, confidence, life, or anything they felt they weren’t made to do. I reinvented myself into an instructor, coach and speaker. Since 2014, I have had the unique opportunity and honor of impacting over 200,000 people from over 100 countries through live events.
Whatever the reason that brings you to reinvention, you have the opportunity to go get what you want, to create a new possibility for yourself, to be happy and to play your part in making the world a better place.
